A Sailor’s Look

Today I and my dear friend Elin, the girl with whom I am writing my bachelor thesis, where in Karlstad, a city some hours away from Gothenburg, doing an interview for our thesis. We had some time left before the train should take us back to Gothenburg. Being a girl, having some time left often means going shopping, or for me at the moment – going window shopping… Look what I found at MQ, a Sailor’s Look! So cool, the designer is a girl named Hanna Lindström who won a design competition called Fresh Fish, and got the opportunity to design an own collection for MQ. Her uniforms are so cool, I mean I almost bought the two remaining, one for me and one for my captain, but I realized that we perhaps have more important things to spend money on than fashion, (but really, who can spend too much money on fashion?!?) I tried to get the uniforms sponsored right away in the shop, but, no, they could not make a sponsor decision on that level, so I might try to contact the designer Hanna Lindström myself! What do you think, so classic, isn't it? And of course, if I'll manage to get them sponsored, the whole crew shall have one! /First Mate Ivansson

Business Cards

Our Business Cards are on their way! Maria's mother gave us a tip about a local company in Höganäs, Mediagården, who might would be able to print our business cards. I contacted them and now our cards are on their way! /First Mate Ivansson

DuoGen installed

We received the DuoGen last Thursday and now it is assembled. A little bit bigger than we expected but after a while you get used to the size. We have named it Barsebäck. Hopefully Barsebäck will create all the electricity we need.

Today I have also painted the bilge and the floor. / The Captain

Easter = Boat Work

Four long days, so much time for boat work. That was our mutual thought before the weekend. Now afterwards we are seriously thinking, (probably have decided), that the launching of the yacht has to be postponed. A few dinner plans stole some hours, still we managed to get almost 8 hours a day, but there are so many more things to do and we don't want to haste, we want it to be done the best way possible, and yes I am a perfectionist.

In an earlier post you have seen me doing new stainless steel washers for the keel bolts, now was the time to put them in place. Taking of the old ones we discovered quite big holes around the bolts. After checking with the B31 club we filled them with epoxy and tightened the nuts with the right torque. The next day Sofia came over and we did the plastic work, covering up the nuts and washers again. It was hard work, done on our knees, and it took us almost all day.

Then it was time for the "shitty work" I had saved for Sofia. She was to clean the waste pump and then exchange the rubber parts in it. It's nice to be the captain sometimes. To finish the day we had a well deserved beer in the sunset. / Captain Ingerup

Photographing at Långedrag

Today, one has experienced one of the most beautiful spring days in Göteborg so far this year. I have been acting sailor model at Långedrag, haha. But I do have to admit, posing in front of a camera can be very much fun! A great photographer, named Anna-Lena Lundqvist, was taking pictures of me for a little article in the paper “Civilekonomen”. So keep your eyes open for the article coming up!

When I was playing model, Maria was playing with Cantare. Maria is together with her father doing an amazing work on the boat. She’s such a great captain, the best! But the captain has saved some “shitty work” for me… Easter Sunday I will celebrate by cleaning some parts of the toilet of Cantare, yummy! /First Mate Ivansson
